Jon Perring

Jon is operator of iconic Melbourne live music venues past and present: The Tote Hotel, Bar Open, Pony The Melbourne Spanish Club, Yah Yah's, and a central figure in reforming environmental sound/planning law, and in rolling back the ill-conceived liquor licensing regulations that threatened live music in Victoria in 2010. Jon is a member of the Victorian State Government's Live Music Roundtable and has written extensively on cultural policy (Live Music and liquor licensing, cultural land-use policy, Agent of Change planning policy, Local Government Policy). He is also an active musician and has a BA (Hons) in Sound/Fine Art.
