Joella is a proud First Nations and South Sea Islander woman. Aside from being Emerging Producer at BlakDance, and running the sibling-owned grassroots Instagram page, iamsouthsea, Joella has a strong passion for spoken word poetry, and working with youth and communities in the performing arts field. Joella's poetry has been performed in various spaces but most recently Joella has commissioned a piece for SBS First Nations takeover series 2020. Joella is also currently studying a Bachelor of Human Services/Bachelor of Creative Industries, majoring in Creative Writing at QUT.
