Harper Bloom is a Perth-born, Melbourne-based singer-songwriter, who writes acoustic electro-pop vignettes of same-sex love and self-acceptance. With a focus on storytelling lyrics with an indie-folk-pop sound, Harper Bloom has only recently stepped onto stage after years of writing to begin sharing her music with the world. Since her 2018 start, Harper’s live show has grown from an intimate solo acoustic set to filling up the stage with a full band behind her. Harper says performing live is an integral part of her music. “I love performing live as it’s an opportunity to interact with people who enjoy my music and bounce off a crowd's energy.”
“My obsession with songwriting drove me to make music. I have also been playing guitar since I was really young, so it felt natural to pair the two together and add melody to lyrics. I have a burning desire to capture emotions in a way that will resonate and connect with people.”
Harper Bloom is looking to connect with key industry personnel from national and international labels and agencies and build a larger team, with the hope she can eventually head to international showcases such as SXSW and Great Escape Festival.
Long-term, Harper is in planning mode, looking to lock down a record deal and expand her festival and touring circuit both locally and internationally.
“In 10 years, I hope to have released multiple albums and be a reputable Australian singer-songwriter with many years of touring under my belt!”
With the changing performance landscape in the midst of a pandemic, Harper Bloom finds comfort in the fact that music can still be played to a "live" audience through means of technology. “I have really noticed artists and industry people supporting each other during this time, by collaborating via virtual live streams and interviews. This makes me feel really positive.” Turn on Harper Bloom’s music and you’ll feel that positivity radiating out of the speakers.
