#About Boox Kid

“Music has always been around me - from dad buying my first guitar, to my big brother performing RnB back in the 90's.”

Jarred Wall, aka Boox Kid, is a First Nations artist from the Wadandi Bibbulmun area of Western Australia, currently living in Fremantle and making “visionary electro-pop”. After spending time playing with Jake and the Cowboys, he’s stepped out to pursue his solo project which originated when he was tinkering with “beats with weird instruments and melodies”.

Joined onstage with a live drummer, Boox Kid crafts a dynamic and unique performance. “I am happiest when I am creating and performing. I love creating melodic soundscapes on stage, I love the opportunity to share my craft.”

As a father of two, Boox Kid yearns to set an example for his children by following his passion and working tirelessly on his craft. “I once had dreams of stardom, but as I’ve grown older and experienced life, my view of music has evolved. I love performing and still strive to do so on the big stages, but I [also] want to collaborate and create music for others, or write for film and TV.”

As a part of #TheBIGSOUND50, Boox Kid hopes to build his network and explore the world of sync. Hoping to offer his skills as a songwriter and producer to other artists, Boox Kid is driven to share the music he’s proud of. “Being a part of BIGSOUND is an amazing opportunity [for] exposure and is recognition that I am heading in the right direction.”

Whilst the pandemic has dramatically changed the way we consume music, Boox Kid has been revelling in the opportunity for intimate performances. “I like the opportunity this provides in sharing a story with fans and becoming personable, at a distance.”
